2020 has been a challenging year for frontline healthcare workers. And in the midst of COVID-19, a state of emergency and catastrophic financial losses at 联华电子, our bargaining team and management worked tirelessly to secure a new, four-year agreement that protects what we have – like Daily Overtime and Critical Care Premiums – and allows us to negotiate Cost of Living increases in the future.

  • 4-year contract term: July 1, 2020 – June 30, 2024
  • Contract fully restored upon ratification: Suspension of contract provisions due to the COVID-
    19 State of Emergency, is rescinded.
  • Article 9 Grievance and Arbitration Procedure: Improved transparency in the disciplinary
    grievance process by requiring each side (联华电子 and Union) provide to the other all
    documentation and any witness statements relied upon at least seven (7) calendar days before
    any scheduled hearing dates.
  • Article 11 Per Diem Employees: Clarify full and part-time 员工 are to be scheduled prior
    to scheduling per diem 员工.
  • Article 13 Probationary/Qualifying Period: Limits the length of probationary period extensions
    不超过6个月.
  • Article 14 Salary: Due to catastrophic financial losses to 联华电子, no Cost of Living Adjustment
    (COLA)为2020 - 2021年. However, 联华电子 and SEIU will negotiate in April 2021 for COLA.
  • Article 15 Salary Upon Status Change
    Providing pro-rata merit increase for 员工 who change classifications mid-year.
    For July 2020 – July 2021, merit increases will be 50%, but after 12 months, merit increases will

  • Article 17 Overtime: Protected Daily Overtime for all bargaining unit 员工 in its entirety.
    Guarantee 1 hour pay for mandatory meetings outside of regular shift for full and part-time

  • Article 20 Critical Care Premium: Protected Critical Care Premium, maintained in full.
  • Article 23 Miscellaneous Leaves: Night Shift Employees will be released from work with pay at
    least 8 hours before serving jury duty. Decrease the number of hours serving jury duty from 8 to
    4 before giving night of off with pay.
  • Article 24 Group Insurance: $5 across-the-board, including employee only, increase in premium
    share, with employee only in same boat as rest of bargaining unit paying 20% of all future
